CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Chipotle spoke out against TikToks that have gone viral of people recording Chipotle employees making their food. They record the videos so the employees give them more food.
The Mexican based food company said the claims that its portions have gotten smaller were false.
Chipotle told CBS MoneyWatch that there has been no changes in its portion sizes and that the company has reinforced proper portioning with its employees.
The company also said it wants customers to let them know when the company is making mistakes.
"If we did not deliver on our value, we want our guests to reach out so we can make it right,"said Chipotle.
Chipotle didn't clarify what type of compensation it will offer to customers who feel the company hasn't given them proper portion sizes.
The food companies CEO, Brian Niccol, called the social media trend "Chipotle phone method." Niccol spoke to CNBC about the TikToks.
"It's rude to our team members," said Niccol. "We're not going all-you-can-eat, we are going great ingredients, great culinary, great bowls."
