Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Greater Johnstown School Board has agreed to renew the contract of district Superintendent Dr. Amy Arcurio.
The decision to grant a contract extension was made at a special school board meeting Tuesday evening and comes after the teacher's union gave a vote of "no confidence" to Arcurio in April.
The union argued that Arcurio was not doing enough to combat the rise in violence and behavioral issues within the district.
Arcurio's new contract will last through 2026 and includes a salary increase, according to the meeting agenda.
Arcurio has been employed as the district superintendent since 2018.
