New pizza shop opens in Geistown

GEISTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — There is a new pizza shop opening in Cambria County. JoJo's pizza is opening a new location on Bedford Street in Geistown. The new shop was formerly Ann's Pizza. Ann's closed in October 2018. Employees at the new location said they are trying to combine JoJo's traditions and Ann's traditions -- starting with square cut pizza. Pirates sign two veteran pitchers to one-year deals

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Pirates signed a pair of free agent pitchers Tuesday to one-year deals, according to multiple reports. Veteran right-hander Vince Velasquez signed a deal worth over $3 million. The 30-year-old posted a 4.78 ERA in 2022 over 9 starts and 18 relief appearances with the Chicago White Sox. Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Somerset County Chamber of Commerce members, along with leaders from the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium discussed the future of the International Conservation Center housed right within the county on Wednesday. Leaders say the one-thousand-acre property in Fairhope is currently home to five breeding elephants, including a recently newborn calf. They say their goal is to continue growing the center to the point where it can house several other endangered animals and eventually release them back into the wild and sustain the captive population. Search warrant reveals new info about January PSU frat fight

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — There’s new information about a fight that happened earlier this year at a Penn State fraternity that resulted in two members of the Nittany Lions football team being cited with disorderly conduct. According to State College police, other members of the team were involved in the fight and police say they got little to no cooperation from the university in their investigation. DuBOIS -- One of the people charged in Thursday's major drug bust in Clearfield County is a reality TV star. Chapel Peace, 33, 176 Alaska Road, Brookville, is part of the "Breaking Amish" series. On Thursday, she was charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance -- methamphetamine -- by law enforcement officials. Altoona man killed in freightliner crash on Port Matilda Mountain

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — State police say one person was killed in a morning crash on Route 322 on Port Matilda Mountain Tuesday. Troopers say the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. in Rush Township and Route 322 was shut down as authorities investigated. According to a state police crash report, a freightliner was traveling west near Thompson’s Curve when the driver tried to negotiate a turn, lost control and slid into the opposing lane, crashing into a BMW.
