University of Chicago students stage commencement walkout as diplomas withheld

CHICAGO (AP) — Dozens of students protesting the war in Gaza walked out of the University of Chicago's commencement Saturday as the school withheld the diplomas of four seniors over their involvement with a pro-Palestinian encampment. The disruption to the rainy two-hour outdoor ceremony was brief, with shouts, boos and calls to "Stop Genocide." A crowd of students walked out in between speeches and a demonstration followed the official ceremony. 'I need help:' 911 audio played during hearing for Patton man accused of shooting wife

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Cambria County man accused of fatally shooting his wife with a shotgun, after she reportedly threatened to leave him, appeared in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. Police say William Simmons, of Patton, is facing murder and aggravated assault charges in the death of 66-year-old Rebecca Simmons. Investigators say on February 22nd, police were dispatched to a residence along Grozanick Road, in Chest Township, after Rebecca Simmons reportedly called 911 to report that she had been shot by her husband. Annual Ferndale Jubilee returns; no parade being held this year

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — The 91st annual Ferndale Firemen's Jubilee is underway this week, with the opening ceremony being held Monday evening. Berlin man killed in crash involving coal truck on Glades Pike

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Officials in Somerset County say a Berlin man was killed Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle collided with a coal truck.
