The success of the initiative has prompted further expansion - including a new facility set to open in Centre County.

Lancaster County Amish population thrives despite sprawl
LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — The Amish population in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County is continuing to grow each year, despite the encroachment of urban sprawl on their communities.
The U.S. Census Bureau says the county added about 2,500 people in 2018. LNP reports that about 1,000 of them were Amish.
Elizabethtown College researchers say Lancaster County's Amish population reached 33,143 in 2018, up 3.2% from the previous year.
The Amish accounted for about 41% of the county's overall population growth last year.

NEW YORK (AP) — Former football star Michael Strahan is leaving the daily talk show he co-hosts with Kelly Ripa to work full-time on "Good Morning America."

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- It was reported for years that the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown paid for settlements and fees involving alleged clergy abuse through insurance and investment profits.
The Associated Press reported in May 2004 that "the diocese said it will continue discussions with various insurance companies to recover the cost" of a 21-person settlement that cost the diocese millions.

Conemaugh Health System to build $22 million outpatient center in Ebensburg
EBENSBURG, Pa. - Conemaugh Health System officials announced Friday they have purchased land in Ebensburg to construct a $22 million outpatient center.
The planned 40,000-square-foot building will be constructed at the intersection of routes 219 and 22.

Northern Cambria man accused of stalking woman, groping her at local grocery store
Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Northern Cambria Borough Police Department say a man is facing charges after he was accused of groping a woman at a local Giant Eagle store while she was working.
According to the affidavit, police say 65-year-old Timothy Depetro allegedly entered an "employee only" area of the store and inappropriately touched the woman while she was standing on a ladder.
Police say the woman stated that she reported the incident to the store's manager.

PA park manager rescues bear cub with its head stuck in container
Cross Fork, PA — A woman was in the right place at the right time when she came to the rescue of a bear cub in Pennsylvania.
Sarah Lindgren, who is a park manager, was driving through Cross Fork last weekend when she spotted a cub with a plastic container on its head.
She says she actually thought it was dead when she first saw it.
It took about 10 seconds to free the cub, which eventually climbed into a tree.
