CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Bryce Jordan Center is hosting the United States Olympic wrestling trials this weekend.
Men and women in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling are competing for the chance to represent the USA in Paris this summer.
Seventeen former and current Penn State wrestlers will compete this weekend.
The trials started at 10 a.m. on Friday and several Nittany Lions have already advanced to the second round.

New York City begins evicting some people in migrant shelters under stricter rules
NEW YORK (AP) — New York City stepped up its efforts to push migrants out of its overwhelmed shelters Wednesday as it began enforcing a new rule that limits some adult asylum-seekers to a month in the system before they have to find a bed on their own.
Migrants without young children must now move out of the hotels, tent complexes and other shelter facilities run by the city and find other housing after 30 days, unless they provide proof of “extenuating circumstances” and are granted an exemption.

15-year-old student suing Biden admin after trans teammate allegedly made rape threats
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (CITC) — A 15-year-old female student in West Virginia is suing the Biden administration after her transgender teammate allegedly threatened her with rape multiple times.
The student, identified as A.C., competes in track and field for the Harrison County School District. Her accusations are included in a lawsuit filed against Education Secretary Miguel Cardona last month by multiple states, alleging the Education Department's latest Title IX regulations are unconstitutional.

Authorities use DNA to ID victims of Cambria County plane crash
Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — During a press conference Monday morning, officials in Cambria County released the names of the victims of last month's fatal plane crash near Ebensburg.
Authorities say DNA testing positively identified the two men as Mark LaMantia, 54, of Ebensburg and Donald Cox, 54, of Nanty Glo.
Investigators say the two men suffered blunt force trauma injuries in the crash and were "killed instantly."

Community protests church for kicking out Elk County DA
RIDGWAY, Pa. (WJAC) — People protested in front of an Elk County Catholic parish on Sunday, claiming the church forced out the Elk County District Attorney after finding out he's gay.

one man dead after vehicle accident in Lebanon County
State police have released information regarding a fatal accident that took place in Jackson Township, Lebanon County, in February.
According to a press release, the incident took place February 19 just before 3 p.m. on Woleber Road.
State police said the driver of a tractor trailer, identified as Hugo Medranoespinal, 41, of Barstow, CA, failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and continued to travel southbound on Hilltop Road when he struck the other vehicle.

Suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is set to appear in court on a new indictment that charges him with a fifth murder, according to a report.
NBC New York on Monday reported 60-year-old Heuermann, of Massapequa Park, N.Y., is expected to be arraigned Thursday. He will appear for an arraignment before a State Supreme Court Justice, the media outlet noted. Jennerstown Speedway hosting 2nd annual Motor Mountain Masters
JENNERSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — This weekend the Jennerstown Speedway Complex is hosting its second annual Motor Mountain Masters.
