"It's one of the most deadly plants in the world."
That's what Heidi Mullendore, an Environmental Educational Specialist at Canoe Creek State Park, said about the toxic plant.
"It's becoming a big concern. It's incredibly toxic to people, and it's also very toxic to wildlife."
Mullendore describes the plant as having a white, lacey flower on top.

Driver slams into cars, runs from police with small child in back seat
PEACH COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) — A Georgia woman is in custody after a chase in which she allegedly hit multiple people and vehicles.
Local police officers were told to be on the lookout for an SUV driving recklessly.
The caller told officers that the driver was weaving into the opposite lane, nearly hitting oncoming vehicles.
As the vehicle made it to an intersection, witnesses blocked the driver in. When Byron police arrived, they tried to talk to the driver, who was uncooperative and refused officers' commands, police say.

HUNTINGDON -- Across the state and the country, people are still mourning the death of state trooper Landon Weaver.
He was shot and killed Friday night after responding to a protection from abuse violation along Bakers Hollow Road in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County.
Flowers still sit at the bottom of the flagpoles at the Huntingdon Barracks. Flags are at half-staff in honor of Weaver, shot and killed at a house on Bakers Hollow Road Friday night.

Hines Ward, James Harrison named semifinalists for 2023 Pro Football HOF class
Pittsburgh Steelers' greats Hines Ward and James Harrison have been named as semifinalists for the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class.
Harrison, who is a first-year nominee, helped lead the Steelers to victory in Super Bowl XLIII and was also named as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year during the 2008 season.
The former All-Pro linebacker spent 14 seasons in Pittsburgh and was voted to the Pro Bowl in five straight seasons, from 2007 to 2011.

Johnstown, Altoona, State College to receive millions of dollars in FTA grants
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Johnstown, Altoona, and State College will all be receiving millions of dollars in new funding from the Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration as part of the coronavirus relief CARES Act, Sen. Bob Casey announced Friday.
Pennsylvania will receive a total of $1.13 billion under the legislation, Casey said.

Altoona Area School District furloughs 64 special education aides
ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) – The Altoona Area School District is laying off dozens of employees after moving to virtual learning for the rest of the semester.
The district’s school board voted Monday to temporarily furlough 64 special education aides.
Superintendent Dr. Charles Prijatelj said it didn't make sense to keep them on the payroll.
“It’s not a question of wanting these employees, it’s not a question of not valuing these people, it’s a question of we have to have work for them to do,” he said.

There was more than one car on the train tracks just seconds before a train struck a vehicle in Cambria County on Wednesday.
Rick Truscello said he was travelling down Eisenhower Boulevard just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon and was just a few cars behind the blue SUV that ended up getting hit by a CSX train.
Truscello said there was traffic backed up near the intersection of Krings Street with about a half dozen cars on each side of the train tracks before the collision.
