STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – For the 30th anniversary of Nike's "Just Do It" campaign, the company added a new face to its ads, which has sparked controversy on social media.
The ads features former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who's known for kneeling during the playing of the national anthem.

OSHA fines Centre County food plant for safety, health violations
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Centre County food processing plant has been "heavily fined" by the federal Department of Labor.
The Hanover Foods Corporation has a processing plant in Centre Hall and last year, the labor department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration opened an investigation there and has now cited the company with 70 violations.
OSHA claims the plant was in violation of dozens of safety and health hazard regulations.

Somerset County courts returning to pre-pandemic procedures for scheduling criminal trials
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — “By-the-seat-of-our-pants may be acceptable in an emergency, but it’s no way to run a court system for the long term."
That's a direct quote from a recent memorandum written by Somerset County President Judge Gregory Geary sent to county employees.
He says "the time has come" for the court to revert back to pre-pandemic procedures for scheduling criminal trials.

WASHINGTON (TND) — The Biden administration has cancelled approximately 10% of all outstanding student debt in the U.S. with its latest round of forgiveness Wednesday, according to Forbes.
The administration forgave $6.1 billion in student debt for more than 300,000 borrowers from private for-profit system The Art Institutes this week. The schools, which shut down last year, falsified data, misled students and conned borrowers into accumulating significant debt without leading to promising career opportunities, according to the Education Department.

Charges dismissed against former Westmont music teacher accused of raping student
Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities have confirmed to 6 News that charges in one of the two cases against former Westmont Hilltop music teacher Shawn Miller have been dismissed.
During a hearing last week, President Judge Norman Krumenacker III ordered that the charges be withdrawn after prosecutors filed a motion to have them dismissed without prejudice.
Officials with the Cambria County District Attorney's office say "an evidentiary issue arose which made it ethically and constitutionally improper to continue to proceed with the case at this time.

DuBois Pat Catan's to reopen as Michael's
DUBOIS, Pa. (WJAC) — Here's some good news for Clearfield County crafters.
The Pat Catan's craft center in DuBois will become a new Michael's store by late summer.
A spokesman for the company says the DuBois store is one of 12 Pat Catan's locations that will rebrand and reopen as Michael’s.
The store opened in August of 2017.
The company says they expect the store to begin the conversion process around June 22 and will reopen as Michael’s by late August.

Motorcyclists remember fallen state trooper
JOHNSTOWN - The Road Dawgs Motorcycle Club hosted its 2016 motorcycle run to honor law enforcement.
