Polkafest '22 wraps up

Johnstown's annual Polkafest had its final day, giving folks a little taste of Poland and other countries.

Of course, a band played some polka music, getting couples of all ages on the dance floor to boogie. And tons upon tons of food, like kielbasa and pierogis, were prepared there.

We caught up with some volunteers from St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church grilling some meats.

"There is no better way to do it other than to experience any kind of heritage, not only Polish heritage, but any heritage firsthand," volunteer Kristina Marinkovich told 6 News. "And really, Johnstown was built on immigrants coming here from all over the world. So really, we take pride in our heritage and we like sharing it with everyone."
