STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — There’s new information about a fight that happened earlier this year at a Penn State fraternity that resulted in two members of the Nittany Lions football team being cited with disorderly conduct.
According to State College police, other members of the team were involved in the fight and police say they got little to no cooperation from the university in their investigation.
The new information is in a search warrant State College police served on Penn State's Office of Student Conduct in May.
On a night in late January, police were called to the front lawn of the Delta Chi Fraternity. According to the warrant, members of the football team rolled up and assaulted several Delta Chi members.
Video of the fight was provided to the Centre County Report.
Police said nine members of the football team were either present or involved in the fight.
They said they suspect six other players were also there but said their attempt to coordinate the investigation with the Penn State athletics department was not successful. According to the warrant, all the identified suspects refused to grant an interview to police.
The warrant also references a separate investigation that police believe is being conducted by Penn State.
This week, football players Tariq Castor-Fields and Henry Fessler were cited with disorderly conduct. According to the warrant, several fraternity members suffered minor injuries as a result of the fight, another member was treated for a broken nose and another was treated for what’s described as a soft wrist injury.
